Montgomery Parks has joined forces with Poolesville High School’s Global Ecology Magnet Program to establish an immersive environmental education hub at the new Royce Hanson Conservation Park. This initiative includes outdoor classrooms and field labs for ecological research and climate adaptation studies. Students will lead projects focused on reforestation, stream monitoring, and native plant restoration. Interpretive signage and trails will enhance learning and public engagement. This partnership aims to integrate education, conservation, and community involvement, supporting Montgomery County’s Climate Action Plan goals within a living landscape.
