Map Showing Estimated Increase in Ozone-Related Emergency Room Visits for Children in New York

Increases in temperature, changes in wind patterns, and ecosystem changes are likely to increase ground-level ozone concentrations in the New York metropolitan region in the future, according to climate projections based on an increasing emissions scenario (A2). This map shows estimated increases in ozone-related emergency room visits for children in the 2020s (compared to the mid-1990s) resulting from climate change-related increases in ozone concentrations.
