Map showing the location of Salinas and the Patillas Reservoir

The ASR project will divert overflow water from the Patillas Reservoir, about 20 miles east of Salinas. Currently, about 60 percent of the water that enters the reservoir spills over and goes into the ocean. The diverted spillover will be directed via canals to the Salinas area to recharge the aquifer.
