Rapid Vulnerability & Adaptation Tool for Climate-Informed Community Planning

This worksheet helps communities compile readily available climate data and local knowledge to assess their climate vulnerability and collaboratively develop adaptation strategies.

The tool's fillable worksheets make climate adaptation planning a simple, direct, and feasible process for communities. It can improve understanding of community vulnerability to climate impacts and guide the community to develop implementable solutions to reduce vulnerability and/or increase resilience.

The Rapid Vulnerability & Adaptation Tool (RVAT) covers the major steps of a basic climate adaptation planning process:

  4. Adaptation Implementation.

The guide provides step-by-step coaching on the use of the RVAT by communities, including background information, worksheets, and instructions for filling out those worksheets.
