A User Guide to Climate Change Portals
Practical guidance for navigating the landscape of climate change portals and resources to find what you need.
This guide can help people acquire and interpret climate change information that is appropriate for their locality. People with a range of backgrounds—city or county employees, community leaders, and concerned residents—can all find climate information that’s appropriate and relevant to their needs. While this guide focuses on the Mountain West, most of the portals and resources described are applicable to other regions of the U.S.
Users are encouraged to consider what they intend to do with information about future climate conditions in their location before they consult climate projections. This will help determine what type(s) of information they need, and thus where they might need to go to find it.
