Additional projects underway include a food garden at Kemp Mill Elementary and a food forest at Takoma Park Elementary, focusing on student and community engagement. Districtwide, MCPS continues to expand bioretention and green infrastructure, plant trees with Department of Environmental Protection, maintain Forest Conservation Easements, manage non-native invasive species, implement forest management, and grow school garden programs with active student involvement.
