Climate Change Indicator Platform
Climate indicators show trends over time in key aspects of our environment. Indicators based on long-term, consistently collected data can be used to understand how our climate and environmental conditions are changing, consider and assess risks and vulnerabilities, and help us prepare, take action, and improve resilience to the impacts of climate change.
The platform provides interactive and downloadable visualizations on climate change indicators, including:
The platform also provides links to selected climate-related indicators from across the federal government, including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and the National Phenology Network.
The indicator platform is an interagency collaboration that leverages efforts from across the U.S. Global Change Research Program agencies and highlights key climate information in the form of indicators that provide foundational science in support of USGCRP sustained assessment products, including the National Climate Assessment, showcase examples from federal agency-specific indicator efforts, and connect federal agency research and science to USGCRP priorities.
