Massachusetts Wildlife Climate Action Tool

Users in Massachusetts can access this tool to better understand the vulnerability of fish, wildlife, and natural resources to climate change, learn how to implement adaptation actions on the ground, and explore climate data and projections.

This online tool is designed to inform and inspire local action to protect the Commonwealth of Massachusett’s natural resources in a changing climate. It was developed for local decision makers, conservation practitioners, large landowners, community leaders across the state, and more.

The tool allows a user to access information on climate change impacts and vulnerability of species and habitats. Adaptation strategies and actions, which explain how to respond to climate stressors, are another useful feature.

The site includes climate change vulnerability profiles for a range of fish and wildlife species, their habitats, and adaptation strategies and actions. The tool was launched in 2015; recent updates include pages specific to coastal resources and detailed information on municipal planning. The municipal planning feature will provide detailed information, including master plans, open space, and recreation plans, etc.
