The RainScapes program offered a first-ever Spanish language native planting workshop and worked with 40 residents to teach about watershed health, how our native plants support healthy environments, such as reducing the need for extra water and mowing. Later, the participants planted native plants in a local urban park, and had three plants each to take for their home gardens. Plants were sourced from the RainScapes growing program which is an MCPS–DEP partnership that teaches high school students about growing native plants.
