Community Collaborative Rain Hail & Snow Network (CoCoRaHS)

Description

CoCoRaHS is an acronym for the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow network. This citizen science project encourages volunteers to measure and report daily precipitation at their location.

Every day, volunteers across the country measure and report precipitation (rain, hail and snow) amounts. Reports are compiled into publicly accessible maps. Reports from volunteer stations can add detail to meteorologists' understanding of precipitation patterns or help a community document the amount of precipitation from a damaging storm.
